On december 13th, 2013 in hotel “Graffiti Gallery” – Varna was heldthe Annual General Meeting of the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA), which was attended by Mayors and representatives of UBBSLA member municipalities.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Atanas Stoilov opened the General Assembly, and Mrs. Mariana Kancheva – Exec. Director presented the activities of the Association during the past year. Mrs. Kancheva said that for a period of one calendar year UBBSLA has provided significant expertise and technical assistance to its members. UBBSLA experts has developed Plans for energy sustainability of 7 member municipalities (Avren, Aksakovo, Nessebar, Beloslav, Valchi dol, Kavarna, Sozopol) and Programs to promote the use of RES of Aksakovo and Avren municipalities. Moreover, UBBSLA experts assisted municipal administrations in elaboration of Beloslav municipal plan for development  for the period 2014-2020 .

During all the 20 years since its establishment, UBBSLA works closely with other regional associations, NAMB and the European institutions to achieve the mission of the association to coordinate the actions of the member municipalities in the field of economy, science, ecology and sustainable development, to organize efforts of municipalities – states to solve common problems in the Black Sea region.
